WHO IS THE COURSE AIMED AT?
It is ideal for beginners, for those who have previous experience of mindfulness and who want to develop their practice and for those who wish to go on to train to teach mindfulness
HOW IS THE COURSE RUN?
This course takes place over 8 weekly sessions of two hours and aims to enable participants to establish an effective and regular daily mindfulness practice so as to help our minds to settle and stabilise.
You will receive a session of the course manual each week as well as recordings to listen to and somewhere to record your experience.
WHAT IS THE COURSE LIKE?
Our courses have a supportive and friendly atmosphere. We place a high importance in the group experience, aiming to create feeling of community.
Each session has a break for tea and cake. In feedback from previous courses we have been told we create a non-judgmental and honest environment.
I’m just grateful that you introduced it into my life. I like the group dynamics. And you were really honest. You didn’t judge. And we were honest too, we could say ‘that did not work for me this week’ or ‘that went horribly wrong’… It’s an up and down journey and we can learn from every bit of it.

IS THE COURSE RIGHT FOR ME?
Support to decide
There are points in life when a mindfulness course may not be the right thing. For example mindfulness has been shown to decrease rates of relapses in depression, however it is not appropriate while someone is in severe depression. We recommend if you are currently experience a trauma such as a bereavement or major life event that now is not the time for mindfulness course. For this reason we offer a free discussion session with one of our mindfulness teachers to help decide if our course is right for you.
We also offer support throughout the course. If questions come up during the course about your mindfulness practice your teacher will be available by email, phone or in person. However this course is not a form of therapy. If more support is needed we recommend participants seek the support of friends, family or professionals such as councillors.

A LEVERET ETHOS
THE POWER OF PLAY
We aim to create an experience of fun and add an element of playfulness to mindfulness practice. We encourage participants to be creative to their practices. Previous sessions we have run include mindfulness of drawing and of dance.
LIFE LONG MINDFULNESSS
The MBLC does not just take place during our two hour weekly sessions. The aim of the course is to integrate mindfulness into our everyday lives. We will work together to find innovative ways to fit mindfulness into each participants individual life. The aim of the course is to set up a lifelong mindfulness practice that last long after the course has finished.
At Leveret Mindfulness we see ourselves more as facilitators rather than teachers. Mindfulness is something everyone has experienced, we simply provide the techniques and environment for participants to connect with their own mindfulness. As such each course is different and we learn as much from participants on the course as they do from us.
Knowing what is happening while it is happening, without preference.
